I ‘m a freelance writer and occasional English teacher living in remote and

beautiful Grand Marais, Minnesota, minutes from Lake Superior and the

Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness.

Nice, huh?

I’ve published numerous articles, hundreds of  newspaper columns (health, fitness, and travel), and two books:

1.    BRITTA’S JOURNEY ~ AN EMIGRATION SAGA , a middle-grade historical novel
   

1.     ISTANBUL’S BAZAAR QUARTER ~ BACK-STREET WALKING TOURS,                                                    
   

                        co-written with historian Edda Renker Weissenbacher.

I’ve also published a blog about my experiences teaching in Istanbul, Ann Marie’s Istanbul. I loved exploring Turkey, snapping photos at every turn. I’m presently writing a memoir of my years in Turkey—when I’m not out adventuring, that is.
